Mike McKay Day At Saint Anselm College!

Monday - November 5, 2007

Mike McKay Day
on St Anselm Campus
It was a tremendous pleasure gathering together in order to honor the King of St Anselm Campus - Mike McKay on Monday evening. What a tribute to this hard working young man.It seems very apparent that he is "a ladies-man" beyond our expectations!
What a show of support from the charming and beautiful female population on campus. Many of them wore Mike McKay Day Tee shirts with slogans of apprecition. The best had.."Mike is my Home-Boy on the back - wow she was a cuttie.Great things are expected by us all for Mike now and into the future.
He has always put 100% into his school work and any other challenge that faces him. Mike takes his work as campus Activity Chair very seriously and from what we saw Monday - he does a superb job. The Dean and his fellow students came out in droves to acknowledge the great honor that he recieved at the NECA Convention this weekend.
One of the most poinent moments of the night was when a male "jock-type" strolled thru the tables of students assembled and shook Mike's hand and said, "...congratulations, you deserve this honor....you make good things happen on campus for all of us." If that does not tell the story - nothing will.
Congratulations to Mike!!! It was an honor for your Old Uncle to be invited to celebrate Mike McKay Day at St. Anselm College on Monday. I am very proud of you and hope that you enjoy all the accolades that come your way!

Campus Proclaimation
Good morning!
On Saturday night Michael McKay ('08) received the National Association for Campus Activities Northeast Region 2007 Student Leader Award.
This is indeed an outstanding award for Mike and for the College! Just a little background ... there are approximately 100 institutions from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and Quebec and New Brunswick in Canada that comprise the NACA Northeast region.
NACA is the nation's largest organization for campus activities, and provides a launching pad for business, professional development, information exchange and networking. Students are nominated to receive the award and a review panel determines the merits of thenomination. To be selected for the Student Leader Award from among leaders at the many extraordinary colleges and universities in the Northeast region is a tremendous accomplishment. As many are aware, Mike is the chairperson for the Saint Anselm College Campus Activities Board (CAB) of the Student Government Association.
He has been involved in CAB for all four years, serving in the past as the director of major events, director ofgeneral programming, and chair of theme development for Family Weekend. He has participated in Spring Break Alternative yearly since his freshman year, has been selected as an Orientation Leader each year since his sophomore year, and is an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Psychology Club.
Thus, with the approval of Fr. Jonathan, in recognition of contributions to the College community, this day is officially declared "Mike McKay Day." Please join us all in congratulating Mike for this outstanding achievement.
Best Regards,
Dr. Joseph HortonVice President for Student Affairs
