October 9, 2007 -- According to several people with knowledge of the situation, Joe Torre's fate will be decided in a few days. And when it is, it's highly likely that George Steinbrenner won't ask Torre back to manage.

The Cleveland Indians defeat the NY Yankees 6-4 at Yankee Stadium to eliminate NY from the playoffs and advance to the ALCS. The young - upstart Tribe played solid D and pitched very well in the series. So, the Yanks are gone and the Indian invade Fenway Friday night. Watch out Red Sox fans. this Cleveland team is not going to be an easy mark. They are hungry and play great baseball. I predict a 6 game series.
The NY Daily News says it all! The Yanks were defeated by the Indians on home turf and eliminated from the playoffs last night. The tribe took a quick 4-0 lead that they would not relinquish. The Yankee loss marks an end to the Joe Torre Era in NY. This is unreal...Torre is the AL Manager of the Year and Yankee Management have opted not to continue their relationship with the beloved manager? Madness!!! King George gets out of the Nursing Home in time to continue to meddle in team matters. This also means the end of another Era - A Rod has an option on his contract and most likely will say good bye to the Bronx. Here is another wild scene. A Rod is the AL MVP! If his bat is NOT in the Yankee lineup -- they do not garner the best record in baseball after the All Star break and the Bombers would NOT make the post season. So, Both Torre 7 A Rod ARE outta NY! As a baseball fan - I must salute the Yankees for their valiant efforts in 2007!
