Yawkey League - Somerville Alibrandi Club at a recent lunch. Somerville is the 10 time YBL Champ, who have garnered this honor 9 years in a row. This Franchise is the greatest amateur baseball team in New England Baseball History!
Alibrandis ran thru the 2007 YBL Playoffs with a 10-2 record after leading the league with a 28-5-1 record. Overall, Somerville led the YBL in hitting in the regular season with a team .348 BA. They were second only to Al Thomas by 3 points in ERA with their 1.49 Team ERA.
Somerville won their 10th Championship by:
- Winning the Bill Stewart Conference and garnering best record in regular season honors and home field advantage.
- Defeating the West Roxbury Devils 3-1 in games in the Quarter Final Round.
- Defeating South Boston Saints 3-0 in games in the Semi Final Round.
- They won the 2007 Yawkey league Championship Series over a very tough Brighton Brewer Club 4-1 in games.
Alibrandis BA was 2nd in the playoffs to the Revere Rockies @ .322. Their pitching staff had an amazing 1.98 ERA in playoff competition.
