Kyle McKay - WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College junior catcher Kyle McKay (Bedford, N.H.), who was strong offensively and defensively for the Mules in an 8-2 week, was honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending March 30.

McKay batted .560 and was errorless behind the plate as the Mules already have surpassed last year's win total. McKay had 14 hits in eight games, four doubles, walked four times, and was hit by four pitches. The .560 average is best among NESCAC hitters.

Besides not having an error at catcher, McKay also threw out four runners trying to steal bases during the team's trip to Arizona. McKay had four hits and scored twice in Colby's 18-17 win over Castleton during the 10-game trip. He had seven hits in his last nine at-bats over the final three games.

McKay had just two errors for Colby last season.
